our story

Meza was born from a deep sense of hospitality, rooted in Arabic and Mexican culture and community. Our breads and spreads are at the center of meals made to be eaten together: warm bread to break and share, with small plates of seasonal fare, all combined in fresh wraps to create hand-held goodness.

Meza connects people across cultures and experiences through the comfort of home cooking and the delight of the freshest California produce. We believe in the power of food to build a strong, resilient community. Our vision is to be a community anchor that provides good jobs, and delicious, nourishing, local food.

Growing up in suburban California, food and time spent in the kitchen were what connected Meza Founder and Chef, Kasandra Kachakji to her cultural heritage. Meza’s farm-to-table culinary craft is heavily influenced by the Sacramento Valley, and Kas’s bi-cultural upbringing.

I love fresh and innovative twists on classics, combining flavors from the SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) and Latin America, and hand-picking first-rate, locally and sustainably sourced ingredients.
